Absolute Poker Review

Absolute Poker is one of the most popular poker rooms open to United States residents. Also known as AP, the poker room has been around since 1996, hence one of the pioneers. The poker room is part of the Cereus poker network (with the merge happening in 2008), where you will find Ultimate Bet (UB) too. In other words, with this network, these poker rooms share the player base, which means you will always have enough players to play against - enough opponents to always have a table with an actual game happening.

Bonuses and Rewards

Absolute Poker’s initial deposit bonus is quite nice in terms of the percentage given out. The bonus comes out to 150% up to $500. All you have to do is sign-up at AP, deposit money into your player account, and you will automatically be issued the bonus percentage according to your accumulated AP Status points (poker points) within your first 60 days of real money play. If that were not enough as a welcome, AP will automatically enter you into a $1,000 Freeroll! - For new depositors only.

Promotions

Absolute Poker offers a wide variety of promotions, with many more being added and changed seasonally, depending on the holidays, sporting events, poker events, and so forwards, which is why it is best to visit the promotions page to see these as they are updated.

However, some other promotions that are always available are the: Tournament Leaderboard, the Poker Hour where you will be able to earn twice the Poker points by playing at certain times of the day, and the Sin-N-Go races, where if you win 3 sit-n-goes, you will be awarded with entries to some great weekly tournaments! Jackpot

Within the promotions is the ‘Royal Flush Jackpot’ - a nice extra profit from getting the biggest hand in poker, which is not too often by the way. All you need to do is get a royal flush while playing at one of Absolute’s ‘Pot-Limit Omaha’ tables. The poker room will collect $0.50 from every raked hand at these tables for those special jackpots coming out. That mentioned, do not be disappointed if you do not get the royal flush, since the jackpot is paid out to everyone at the table of the jackpot winner. While the jackpot holder will win 65% of it, the rest is distributed with the rest of the players at that specific table – sweet deal for all!

Along with the Royal Flush Jackpot, there is the ‘Bad Beat Jackpot’ offered too, which pretty much has the same idea as the above for the bad beat victim, and the rest of the players at the table.

Software

The best part about Absolute Poker’s software, by far, has to be the fact that it is pretty clean and simple, which is great since it will avoid heavy graphics, or excess details, which if you are looking to really play poker, they can really distract from your game. Hence, with the simplistic approach, they are achieving a great POKER game experience for their players, with additional features such as multi-tabling, the rabbit cam, which is a nice feature allowing you to see the ‘turn’ and/or ‘river’ after folding (if you folded), as well as offering four-color decks, within other fantastic options and features.

Traffic & Competition

Remember, Absolute Poker is part of the Cereus poker network, and as such it will have a nice amount of traffic and players on the tables ready to play against you. As part of the network too, they do get some nice mixture of recreational and savvier players, with some of the recreational players coming-in from the blackjack section on UB – although, they also do bring the tougher players in. That said, the traffic amount makes the Cereus network, and hence Absolute Poker, one of the top ten (10) poker rooms worldwide in terms of player base/traffic playing at the poker tables.
